Tomorrow we will be presenting our student information ideas. We have our Twitter account and our App to present to the judges, and plenty of notes/visual aids we can use to show the work we've put in and the way our information will be expressed.
We have created a mock up of our app on a website, so we can let whoever us judging click through while we describe how it conveys information to future students, and how it might progress in the future.
We've also been regularly updating our twitter, so we can discuss how the twitter and app work together and also show them the kind of tweets we've been sending. We have been retweeted a few times and directly tweeted by important people in the industry, so hopefully this will be enough to impress tomorrow!
Wish us luck....

Twitter Update
We have been running our Twitter account for a few weeks now, and it's been quite successful so far. Most of the people in our group had never used twitter before so we helped each other figure it out and suggested things to tweet about.
We're following many makeup and beauty brands, including: MAC, Illamasqua, Bobbi Brown, L'Oreal and Benefit. We also follow influential people in the fashion industry such as Vogue Magazine, Cathy Horyn (fashion critic for the NY Times), Elle Beauty, Chanel and Michael Kors. We also decided to expand our circle in the industry by following other independent makeup artists and makeup communities such as Makeup Artists Meet, Makeup Artist Magazine and The Makeup Bee.
We've found that following people in our line of work (and getting them to follow us back or even tweet us directly) helps to open a dialogue with the industry and get our course information out there!
So far we've been tweeting about what we've been up to in college, discussing what we've been working on at home, providing facts and information about the course, posting pictures of our work, retweeting makeup tips and talking about how we plan on progressing into next year.
We've already been swapping tips with other makeup artists, been retweeted several times by the official James Watt College twitter and we've been tweeted directly by the official Bobbi Brown Cosmetics page and Julian Mark Kynaston, the founder of Illamasqua!
Safe to say, we think Twitter is the way forward! :)

App Development
Today we have been gathering information for the app design we have created. Most of this has involved speaking to lecturers and gathering questions (and answers) that future students tend to ask. This will be included on a "FAQ" page on the app, where students can find out all they need to know about the course. Also, we are finalising the app design - deciding what colour scheme to use, what the buttons should look like, font sizes, background images, etc.
Our ideas for the app have included things such as success stories from previous students to give motivation and knowledge to future students, questions and answers about the course, a page for our twitter feed, a link to the 'contact us' section of the JWC website and a photo gallery of our work throughout the year. This gives people the chance to see what they could be doing if they join this course.

ZOMBIE CHALLENGE! NQ Media Make Up
Week 5
Today we discussed things that should be included in the App. We took some notes and drew up some designs, and so far we've decided on our 10 questions/answers for future students and past students' success stories in the Make-up Industry.
We also updated our twitter account - we've been tweeting about our recent achievements in class and uploaded photos for our followers to see.

- Decided what media to use to promote our course (Blog, App, Twitter account)
- Researched how to make apps, what our app should consist of, etc.
- Allocated tasks to each team member
- Created a team name, blog URL and Twitter name
- Set up the Twitter and Blog accounts
Things to do:
- Update the Twitter account with what we're up to, pictures, information, etc.
- Decide how our App should look, what features to include, how it will work - this will be shown on design sheets.
